I love to capture the purity of a newborn baby – from the tiniest detail. I work mostly in a monochromatic and neutral colour palette – so that the emphasis is on your new baby. My style is clean and natural. The base-colour of all sessions is white, off-white or cream. I believe in photographing babies in a natural way – I do not force babies into any unnatural poses and props. Parents, siblings and even pets can be included in the newborn session.

The best time for your newborn shoot is within the first 14 days after birth – with the sweet spot ranging between day 6 and day 10. During those first two weeks, most babies are still very sleepy and do not mind being posed in those typical newborn poses. Sometimes ‘life happens’ and something comes up, e.g. your baby needs to stay in the hospital a little longer, preventing you from doing the newborn shoot within the first 14 days. It is NOT a problem at all! That should not put you off – you can still schedule a newborn shoot if your baby is a little older. I have done successful newborn shoots with babies 4 weeks old.

The Lifestyle Package includes parent and sibling photos. During all sessions, I take a variety of photos including closeups of your baby’s toes, hair, lips, etc., as well as family photos with Mom and Dad and the new baby’s siblings whether they be human or four-legged siblings.

Most babies eventually fall asleep during their session after being fed and swaddled snugly. It does occasionally happen that a baby stays awake for the entire session – if that is the case, I will tailor the poses accordingly or keep the baby swaddled to keep him/her calm and happy.
