Model Call

I AM LOOKING FOR THE FOLLOWING DOGS:

Small, large, gigantic, beautiful, ugly, cute, funny-looking, fat, thin, young puppies or old toothless muts….all dogs qualify.

NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION – if you have a dog in foster care that could use ‘publicity photos’ to help him or her get adopted, you are welcome to get in touch. Preference will be given.

BREEDERS – if you have pups that could use ‘publicity photos’, you are welcome to get in touch.

Please Note that there are a number of Terms & Conditions Involved:

You must be willing to sign a MODEL RELEASE – giving me (the photographer) permission to use your images in marketing, websites, social media, ‘behind the scenes’ videos, etc. As well as the possibility of using the photos in a book or calendar and permission for Celia van Niekerk Portrait Artist to use these as reference photos for pet portraits.

You must be available on weekdays (excluding public holidays) between 20 December 2024 and 20 January 2025, during the day – the date & time will be confirmed with you in advance. ARRANGEMENTS WILL BE MADE WELL IN ADVANCE.

You must be willing to travel to the studio in Nigel, East Rand at your own expense. I cannot photograph your dog at your home. (NPO’s or breeders are welcome too, if they can travel to the studio. Unfortunately, it is not possible for me at present to travel to NPO’s or Breeders due to my current workload.)

You will NOT receive any financial compensation. You will receive minimum 5 professional photographs as compensation for your time.

This photo session is about YOUR DOG. It is NOT a family photo shoot, BUT if I decide to incorporate the family in the shoot (this will be discussed prior to the session), you are responsible for your outfits. You must be willing to dress according to the following colour scheme: NEUTRALS AND PASTELS: men and boys – chino or light blue jeans with a white golf or white button-up shirt. Pastel-coloured shirts are allowable. Ladies & girls – white or pastel dress/skirt. Soft pastel prints are allowable. NO large motives, brand names, characters, etc. You must be willing to send me your outfit ideas/photos prior to the session.)

The studio gets cleaned and surfaces get disinfected regularly to ensure the health and safety of my four-legged clients as well as your dog and my own dog. I do however have to ask that your pet’s vaccination, tick & flea treatment and deworming are up to date. No exceptions and proof (a copy of the vaccination card) can be requested. I am sorry for asking, but I am sure you will understand. We want to keep ALL pets protected: YOUR pets, all other clients as well as my own pets.

Kindly note that I receive MULTIPLE applications for a model call. Unfortunately, I cannot use all the models – I have to make a selection. Please do not be offended if I do not use your dog, it is just not practically possible to use all the applicants. Preference will be given to Non-Profit Organizations and pets in foster care to help them find a home.

I usually receive MULTIPLE applications for a model call – I will sift through these during the week. If your pooch fits the bill I will notify you WELL IN ADVANCE with further details and the model release.
